The Spanish consortium Ineco Ardanuy with CFC as a specialist collaborator in structures, has been awarded the contract for North Latvia, one of the main sections of the Baltic Rail connection, an action that aims to unite the three Baltic republics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) through a high-speed rail line that will subsequently connect with the rest of Europe through Poland and Finland, which will extend over 870 km, with an investment of 5.8 billion euros.
The project includes the detailed design and assistance during the execution of the works of a 94 km section that will connect the city of Vangazy, in the northwest of Riga, with the Estonian border. Within it are relevant and complex infrastructures such as several stations, 13 bridges, 36 road crossings and 3 railway viaducts, among them the viaduct over the Gauge river that will be the largest work on the entire Rail Baltica line with its approximately 1.5 km in length. a very sensitive area from an environmental point of view.
