500 years ago, the Spanish expedition under the command of Magellan and Elcano, arrived in the Philippines. To mark this historic event, the Spanish Navy Training Ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano arrived on the shores of Samar on March 16.

Later, following the route of the Magallanes – Elcano expedition, he headed to the island of Cebu, passing “under” the Cebú-Cordova Bridge, in which our company has made the design and is currently responsible for geometric control and assistance to the construction.

The arrival of the Spanish expedition in 1521 was well received by the inhabitants of the area, who provided the expedition members with food and drink, thus showing the solidarity and hospitality of the Filipino people. This was the starting point of a close friendship between the brother peoples of Spain and the Philippines, which we are sure will last for many years.
