The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation project. The project will not only provide much-needed transportation improvements for international travelers, but will also bring jobs and growth opportunities to the Windsor-Detroit region.<\/p>\n

The project is implemented through a public-private partnership (P3). A public-private partnership where in a public infrastructure, the private sector assumes a significant portion of the risks in terms of financing and construction and ensures the effective performance of the infrastructure, from design, planning and long-term maintenance.<\/p>\n

Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) announced in July 2018 that it designated Bridging North America’s proposal as the preferred solution to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, which will link the U.S. with Canada. The bridge will be cable-stayed.<\/p>\n

    The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is composed of 4 parts<\/p>\n

    • The bridge.<\/li>\n
    • Canadian port of entry.<\/li>\n
    • U.S. port of entry.<\/li>\n
    • Michigan heat exchanger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The new bridge is expected to be one of the most important bridges in North America, being the largest infrastructure project along the Canada-U.S. border:<\/p>\n

      – Six-lane cable-stayed bridge: three to Canada, three to the United States.
      \n– Total length: approximately 2.5 kilometers \/ 1.5 miles.
      \n– Main beam of 850 meters \/ 0.53 miles
      \n– Pedestrian and bicycle lanes.<\/p>\n
