Last February 2, President Claudia Sheinbaum inaugurated the Santa Fe – Observatorio railway section, with which the Interurban Train “El Insurgente” finally completes its Mexico – Toluca route and in which the “Manantial Conagua” Cable-stayed Viaduct stands out, This work was executed by ICA Ingenieros Civiles Asociados<\/a> and Grupo IDINSA<\/a>, Freyssinet<\/a>, Puente Manantial, SGS<\/a> and where CFCSL<\/strong> was in charge of the structural design and geometric control of the viaduct together with our partners Pontix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Viaduct, with a total length of 515 m, was designed with a main span of 200 m in order to preserve the Barranca de Tacubaya Natural Protected Area without touching its soil, protecting the vital spring that supplies thousands of families in Mexico City. The main V-shaped towers have heights of 65 and 75m respectively, supporting 104 suspenders distributed in 8 arches of 13 suspenders each. Each stay is made up of between 29 and 65 strands. <\/p>\n

The structure stands out not only for its dimensions, but also for its curved design and the use of an advanced anti-seismic system with shock absorbers.
\nThis project is an example of how civil engineering can be integrated with respect for the environment to transform and increase the competitiveness of a region.<\/p>\n
