Bridge over the Bay of Cadiz, designed by CFCSL, winner of the 3rd ACHE Engineering Awards 2017.

The 1812 Constitution Bridge over the Bay of Cadiz, designed by the CFCSL design office, has won the 2017 ACHE award for the best engineering work in the Bridges category.

The purpose of these engineering awards is to distinguish those projects that, due to their quality, importance and innovation, contribute to the progress of structural concrete and structures in general.

The jury responsible for awarding the prizes was made up of representatives of ACHE and other institutions: School of Civil Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, School of Civil Engineers of the University of La Coruña, Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences, College of Civil Engineers and the Higher Council of Architects.

The awards ceremony will take place during the closing dinner of the VII Triennial Congress of the Scientific-Technical Association of Structural Concrete (ACHE), to be held in La Coruña between 20 and 22 June 2017. An excellent international meeting of professionals and specialists in the field of structures, whose technical level is endorsed by previous editions.

The main objectives of this International Structures Congress are, on the one hand, to make known the advances, studies and achievements recently reached in the structural field (in Building and in Civil and Industrial Engineering) and, on the other hand, to expose the activities of our Association to its members, friends and the whole society at whose service ACHE is carrying out a non-profit technical dissemination work.

At this congress, Guillermo Ayuso, CFCSL engineer, will present two papers: one on the Barra Vieja Bridge in Mexico and the other on the Engordany Roundabout in Escaldes, Andorra.
