Two CFC projects have been shortlisted in three categories of the IABSE 2023 awards.
IABSE – International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering has announced the list of nominated projects for the “Project and Technology Awards 2023”.
We are delighted to announce that two CFC projects have been selected in three categories:
The Cebu Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) bridge project in the Philippines has been shortlisted in the “Major Road and Rail Bridges” and “Construction Innovation” categories. We would like to thank and congratulate all the teams involved in this project, especially the consortium formed by ACCIONA, First Balfour and D.M. CONSUNJI, INC. (DMCI) for entrusting CFC as the designers of the project’s main structure, the 390-meter span cable-stayed bridge over the Mactan Ship Channel. Our services have been extended from the bidding phase to the completion of construction.
The Yarumo Blanco Viaduct, also known as the Herradura Bridge on the Cordillera Central Highway in Colombia, is on the list of finalists in the “Rehabilitation” category. This is a highly unique and complex rehabilitation, strengthening and seismic reconfiguration of an existing bridge. We would like to thank the Vías América consortium led by OHLA for placing their trust in CFC both for the execution of the modified repowering project and for the technical assistance during the execution of the works. We would also like to highlight the active collaboration and support of the Colombian administration, represented by Invias AG, for endorsing such an innovative solution for the project.
From the CFCSL we would like to congratulate the rest of the selected projects and the teams that have participated in them.
